Greetings all, It seems there is an error in the file: /install/Template.php file on line 15. PHP ERROR: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' Do I need to fix this myself? Or has someone else already fixed it. :) install system: Apache-CURRENT MySQL-CURRENT PHP4-CURRENT Thank you for all your time and consideration in this matter. --Charlie |

Hello, and thank you for your reply. Yes. I uploaded the archive > changed ownership of the frog directory & files to the webserver > opened /install/ in my web browser. Got a blank page and the PHP ERROR in the PHP log. Thank you again for your response. --Charlie |

I couldn't find in the requirements which PHP version is required, but can you change to PHP 5 easily? In Bluehost you can just select php 5. Possibly your problem. Good luck. |

Hello, and thank you for your kind response. Yes, there is not an announcement that frog is only for php5. But you are correct, frog (current) is built for php5. :( But I just finished re-writing frog for php4. So now there's a frog for the rest of us. :) Why don't I use php5? I do. I have 50 servers, and I have both php4, and php5 installed on some of them. The others have just have php4. The server I wish to install frog on has just php4. I can find little reason not to make frog php4 compatible at this point. It was very simple to do. Thank you again for your kind response. --Charlie |

Could you post up what changes you needed to make it php4 compatible? It would be the best, if you could post up the final php4 compatible frog. Thanks! |

I support Philippe's decision. Any server administrator still running only PHP 4 would be doing a disservice to their users! PHP 4 was discontinued at the end of 2007, with the exception of case-by-case support until quarter 3 2008. After that there will be no more updates for PHP4 and it will be classed as discontinued. 6 is on the way, and it is going to include some serious house cleaning! |
