0.9.2 -> 0.9.3 upgrade instructions?

I'm surprised the download only includes install instructions, no upgrade instructions. I tried deleting the config.php from the download, then updating everything else. It seem to run ok with the old config.php - but then I noticed I couldn't save any pages. I turned on debug in config.php, and saw it was breaking because the DEFAULT_TIMEZONE constant is now in config.php Ok, I added that constant, but I can't save pages... the admin page error is simply "Page has not been saved!" (I no longer see the debug info) ... not super helpful. I can't re-run the install script, I can see it only contains 'create table' commands... my tables already exist (with data I want to keep). Are there DB changes for 0.9.3? If not, any ideas why I can't save pages now? |

Yes there are database changes in 0.9.3. I will provide (tomorrow) a little update script. |

Once Frog hits 1.0, shouldn't it have a defined non-SVN upgrade process for each new version (from 1.0 forward, not for pre 1 versions)? |

@colinscroggins - Yes. It is our intention to provide detailed textual upgrade instructions. We're also looking at a couple of options to provide (semi-)automated upgrades. Just bear with us, Frog is fairly new. :-) |

I have been with Frog since the first public release, so I know how far it has come. I am not rushing anyone, but I do think that clearly identifying the plans surrounding these types of details helps instill confidence in Frog as an ongoing project that will support developers who choose to use it. Plus it frames and prevents unrealistic expectations of the pre 1.0 builds. |

@colinscroggins - Now that we have an actual dev team, we're certainly going to be communicating more as to what is going into new releases. The main resource for that will be the issue tracking system on Google offcourse. As for communicating something like a "release schedule", that is something we won't be doing. A new release will be made available when the dev team decides it is ready. If you're looking for a project roadmap, which I think you are... that roadmap is under discussion and you can expect it somewhere in the next 2-3 months or so. :-) Be prepared though: the roadmap will just be an indication, nothing more. |
