Blog with Frog?

This might be a silly question but is anyone using frog as a blog engine? The page creation metaphor just doesn’t seem to map onto a blog all that well. In much the same way that the blog metaphor makes static contents and per page themes (what frog seems so good at) hard, page creation seems like too much effort for a post. But the Archive view is there in the default install, which is, in my mind, pure blog. So what’s the deal? Is frog designed for making sites with 10s of pages or blogs with thousands of posts?

I blog with Frog and although its a relatively new site, with some tweaks I found it easier to get up and running than Wordpress, particularly in regards to templating.

Although with Frog the emphasis as I understand it is on content management rather than blogging, and I do imagine I will come into serious archiving problems when my site reaches hundreds of blog posts, but these concerns are being discussed this thread, so it’s not as if a proper solution isn’t on the horizon.

Personally, I needed a CMS first and a blog second, but its entirely possible to blog in Frog quite happily.

Thanks for the confirmation. I actually like that Frog isn’t another blog engine. It seems to fill a real niche (that may be less of a niche than I think given that the most expensive wordpress theme jobs out there basically turn WP into Frog!).

Anyway I’m really looking to glue a tumblog and a couple of static pages to a wiki. I think Chyrp + DokuWiki may be the best fit for the job.

Well, it is not that difficult to add the blogging feature. Just a little bit tweaking like pagination to accommodate thousands of pages. I am a strong believer of simplicity and I like sqlite. I currently use phpsqlitecms and am just beginning to get familiar with frog. I may develop some plugins for it later on.

I don’t use Frog for blogs yet because as mentioned it’s not yet ready to handle thousands of posts, and also there’s no Akismet plugin yet for comments.

also it doesn’t handle future-dated posts yet, as far as i know

Future posting would be helpful! It’s one of the only things I am really hurting for atm.

I currently blog with Frog having the hope that pagination will arrive before I have a thousand posts :P
