It seems since the split we haven’t heard from Philippe and he doesn’t seem to reply to tweets since there is no other way to contact him. Is Frog CMS dead or will there be further development and if there is further development, how can other get involved. And what is the future of Frog CMS? I have now ported my Tagger plugin to Wolf CMS and would like to know if It is worth while updating the Frog CMS branch as I don’t know the future of Frog CMS.

I have also seen you tweet rather recently Philippe so you must be able to reply to a tweet or a post on here.

Well i’m still using Frog but have signed up over at Wolf’s forum to.
To me its important to have a CMS thats very alive and under active development.
I do hope Frog lives on but it seems to need some kind of “reanimator” to do so.
So sure Philippe might be very busy and all, but to leave a message on the 19th of Oct 2009 telling users and followers that Frog is not dead seems a bit out of place considering we are near the 1st of Feb 2010 allready..

I’still a live !! Sorry for all of you that I didn’t reply (tweets and/or email)

since octobre that I have restart freelancing I didn’t got the chance to work alot on Frog CMS yet. I can’t said nothing for now, because I’m really busy, but I know that in Mars there will be big change in my “work”.

what if I came back with the old Frog split version, but with some new “kick ass” modification to be able to play with multilang core Frog CMS. This is what I have work on since Octobre. I need some Beta tester about it. But there is no installer yet (if this is not a problem for you I can ship you a preversion of this multilang version)

well this is it for now hope to be more active in the next weeks

Maybe you move project on git and set up a wiki system? And next you can just say “new release 1.0!”, “In these release i wish to see func 1, func 2 and func 3”, start a new feature request and all who wanna work on this will have a chance to attend for this.

Thank you for your reply Philippe, I know what you mean by being busy. I will beta test the multilang version you are working on aswell and see how tagger can integrate more into it. If needed I can also help with the installer. I myself am busy but at times I use frog for small projects and wouldn’t mind helping with the development of this great small but robust cms.

I would help with javascript but not a fan of prototype, more of a jquery user. Maybe in the future it would be good to port to jquery.

Maybe we stop talk about the lack of time. I did suggest you move the code on GIT and simply set goals and make decisions. And next step, move documentation on a wiki-like system. Look at www.wolfcms.org, they just do this two things and project go live.

I must say wiki is one of the most unorganized and broadly full of unreliable information kind of application that I hate, please stay away from wiki. I am sure we can find some guys to write the docs in frog. Ok Philippe since you lack time why not just move Frog to git add a few of us to the team. I am sure you have seen Tagger so u can tell if I am a good coder or not from that.

If there will be no work done on Frog for now please state it so I can go create a new CMS on Codeigniter and forget about Frog. Anyone interested in CMS on CI let me know.

You’ll never find a man who can write code, wiki or doсs in a full-time mode, for open source projects without any financial support.
So, there is need to make that project not depending from one, two, or even groups of people, if that groups is closed to attend.
One of ways to do this is git for code and wiki-like system, like it or not.

Well, in the meantime, I personally move to Wolf CMS… At least we’ll be assured there will be updates.

i still think that Philippe needs to delegate his project leader role to someone who has time to bring it alive.

Philippe, you can just say: “i finding somebody, who wanna develop my project”, and i sore, that you collect a people you needs just in few days.
