editor protected mode

hi there, I'm newbie to Frog and it seems lot of fun ! I'm just trying to use it for creating an old-style website with articles nested in FIXED categories (to show litteracy extracts) but I'm affraid : this user (whoi 'snt developper like me ! ) can access, throught the admin page in "editor mode", the list of pages, RSS, etc WITH their PHP & HTML structure !!!!! while he rather needs only a Wisiwyg editor liket tinyMCE and ability to add/modify/delete articles (or comments) in the given (and still fixed) categories. It's more similar to a blog than to a CMS, isn't it ? and what this could be done with Frog ?? Greetings, salutations Héfeust |

Hi Héfeust - welcome to the forum! Frog has three levels of permissions: when you use the "add user" ("Nouvel utilisateur") tabl, you get three check-box choices: Administrator, Developer, or Editor. "Admin" and "Developer" are almost the same -- the only difference is that "Developers" do not have access to the "utilisateur" functions. If the user has "Editor" privileges, then ONLY pages that are not "protected" (see the check box in the bottom right when you edit any page), and they will not see the "Snippet" or "Layout" tabs (I think!). You can use the TinyMCE plugin provided by mvdkleijn for editing articles, etc. Hope that helps! Please ask again if I have misunderstood your questions! David. |

Sorry - my writing was not clear: I meant to say... If the user has "Editor" privileges, then they will ONLY be able to see/edit pages that are not "protected" (see the check box in the bottom right when you edit any page), and they will not see the "Snippet" or "Layout" tabs (I think!). |

this is well judged (bien vu!...) protected pages aren't accessible for editors, ok that's works ! I am still digging for discoving solutions. Remember : Home Page has to behave as a static (arrayed) menu of links and category accessors and categories nest articles editable with TinyMCE : just the editor's work !
